Confidence in Leadership

CONFIDENCE IN THE CAPACITY OF PERSONAL LEADERSHIP + ASSUMING LEADERSHIP ROLES

At SERES learning confidence in personal leadership capacity and assuming leadership roles is part of the soft skills we develop. Young people from marginalized aras often are capable and have the skills to assume leadership roles in their peer communities, at different levels. Some discover their leadership capacity in the programs, while others are already assuming this role from the SERES platform and applying knowledge.

“These days of learning and information made me want to act, I was shocked by the needs around and I am inspired to see this world, our Guatemala and my community, better."   Jennifer Aidé Xicay - Actívate Balanyá

During the 3 day workshop called the Actívate, youth are empowered to look at their own ecofootprint and develop community action plans that can be implemented.

"I am committed to generating changes at home and in my community with the group of young people to stop the contamination with plastic by using creative ideas to diminish the plastic." - Alexander Rivera - Actívate Chalatenango
